As much as she loathed to admit it, part of Ivy was glad that she’d agreed to go on the surprise walk.  The break had been a welcome respite to fruitless hours spent hunched over ineffective chemicals and unsuccessful elixirs.

Harley’s warm fingers felt pleasant against her cool hands in the delicate chill of the September morning sunshine.  Her smile was nearly contagious and enthusiasm endearing.

“Ain’t it pretty, Red?”

Ivy cast a wary eye over fallen golden leaves and rustic trees; listened as a thousand weary voices grew more faint with time.

“I suppose,” she allowed.

Harley’s grin was as brilliant as a ray of pure sunshine.  Ivy couldn’t help but lean forward and bask in the light.

They marched forward together under a clear blue sky.

Author:  Cold Nostalgia
Disclaimer: DC owns everything.
Claim:  Harley/Ivy
Prompt: 28. Fade
Word count: 100
Summary: Then the cycle begins anew.

The bruises fade, her eyes are almost lucid, she leaves and then the cycle begins anew.

Ivy no longer argues, or questions it anymore.  Just as a redwood slowly withdraws into itself as summer turns to fall, Harley will always return to her maker and feast upon his madness before coming home.

Ivy’s acceptance doesn’t stop it from hurting any less.  The first few silent, empty days always bite the hardest.  Those are the days when she feels herself being pulled away, the spectre of Pamela growing faint within her.

It’s during this time that spring seems so far away.

Title:  Confetti
Author:  Cold Nostalgia
Rating: PG
Word Count:157
Characters/Paring:  Clark/Bruce, Clark/Lois
Summary:  The wedding is perfect

The wedding is perfect.  Lois looks radiantly beautiful and Clark is nothing less than luminous; a bright god amongst dim mortals.  A joyful, exuberant energy intensifies as it travels from one guest to the next.

A fairytale ending to a fairytale romance.

It is only when congratulations have been offered, handshakes exchanged, the last photographs have been taken, that Bruce feels he can finally let go of the breath he has been holding.

Finally alone, he travels the length of the small church yard; a dark figure on a picturesque day.

His mind wanders down overcast paths, roads taken and then abandoned in a moment of blackened stubbornness.

Later Diana will corner him with compassionate eyes and kind words intended to heal.  Alfred will fuss in an indirect way.

But for now, Bruce will hang on to his regret, nurture his jealously, tend to his hurt.

He can’t stop being who he is anymore than Clark can.

The autumn walk is beautiful! Harley is good for Ivy.

The second one is rather sad, but patterns are hard to break.

Very sad third piece. Keep pushing someone often enough, Bruce, and one day they won't come back.

1)Thank you, and yeah, they do balance out each others weaknesses:)

2) Especially if you're Harley and Ivy.:(

3) Yeah, my first dip into Bruce/Clark waters didn't end so well. I blame the Red Hood film for being too fresh in my mind. My Bruce muse likes his misery.

Thanks for the fb, I'm glad you enjoyed them:)

Awwwww, Harley and Ivy are so cute together!

The last two are so heartbreakingly sad! I really felt bad for poor Ivy and Bruce, damn canon pairings rearing their ugly heads.

Great job!!

Oh mylanta, I love the Ivy/Harley ones. The first is just so full of falls gentle beauty, the second shadows the begining of winter's bitter sleep.

Bruce's loss is his own fault and now he reaps what he sowed.

Thank you for sharing these short bursts of fall emotions, they are beautiful.

Thanks, I was trying to get across the seasonal theme, so I'm glad I pulled it off.

And yup, Bruce really shot himself in the foot there.

Thanks for the fb, I really appreciate it and I'm glad you liked the fics:)

Oh. The Bruce and Clark one was beautiful and... god, it hurt! And though I love Clark and Bruce together, this is the only way I could ever see it fitting into cannon, with displaced affection and broken hearts. *Sniffle*

Also: YOUR LEX ICON. I NEED THE STORY BEHIND IT, because it's quite possibly the best thing ever.

Thank you, and yup, Batdickery ruins everything, *sigh*

YOUR LEX ICON. I NEED THE STORY BEHIND IT, because it's quite possibly the best thing ever.

You know I can't remember where I got it, but it's based on the old super dictionary which was published during the silver age - and it is a hoot! If you've got a spare five minutes do a google search, it's well worth it.

Thanks for the fb:)
