Within the space of an hour my pretty okay day, turned into a night of sheer crappiness and agonising pain.

I managed to bang my toe into one of the metal legs of my bed and it ripped half my nail away.  Needless to say there was a lot of blood and there were a lot of tears.  I've practically spent the whole day at work hobbling around like hundred year old woman, nery a seat to be found anywhere - unless you count the floor when the manager wasn't looking that is.

To top it all off, my next door neighbours decided that it was great idea to throw a party at quarter to twelve on a Sunday evening and because of that I've probably had about an hours sleep - it was still going on this morning when the alarm went off - and the only thing that's powering me right now is the gallons of Red Bull that I've consumed throughout the day.  It really isn't nice; I feel jittery, spaced out, and my brain feels like it's been through a cheese grater.

Ugh.

What a painful day! Were you able to get the nail well looked at, and not just have it bandaged? Ugh, I would have called the cops about that party. Hope you have a better week, and a good night's rest.

I've got it bandaged up and if it gets any worse then I'll make an appointment to see the doctor, who'll probably just tell me to rest up.

This is only the second time they've done it, and they're new, so I wait and see if they calm down a bit before I start reaching for the phone.

And I slept a bit better last night, thank you. :)

That's just terrible. I stubbed my middle toe on the metal leg of the bed once too when I was younger and I know how horridly that feels. It's about as bad as when you land on your coccyx on a concrete floor. It hurts like hell.

Doesn't the UK have a law against doing that sort of thing late at night? Over here you can call the cops if someone is throwing a party this late at night and blasting their music for the whole neighbourhood to hear.

Oy, it's still hurting like hell. Thank gaia for painkillers. :)

We do, but they aren't worth the paper they're written on really. The police don't really do much except knock on the person's door and tell them to turn it down a bit, half an hour later it starts up again.

I couldn't be bothered going through all that, besides, it has to be a really repetitive thing before ABOS get served and they're brand new neighbours as well. If it starts to become a regular thing then I might very well start calling the police, but at the moment I'm quite kindly disposed to them since they are a huge improvement over the last lot who were, to be perfectly frank, scum.

Ah, the joys of living in a tenement building where most of the flats are owned by the council. :)
