I think it's kind of interesting how even people outside of the United States care so much whereas when the media over talks about other countries, it's usually for flimsy topics like President Zarcozy's girlfriend or Spain and the issue with models being too skinny. Topics like Hugo Chavez' outright criticism of Georgie are passing and he is actually more discussed in depth in stations catered for Latino viewers. Our politics are out of whack it's not even funny anymore.
Yeah, quite a few friends have told me that there was little-to-no news regarding other countries when they were in the 'States. It freaked them out ever so slightly.
I think it's more a media problem than anything else. *shrug*
