Was ultra busy yesterday. Barely had a chance to stop and catch my breath all day, which is really crap considering that yesterday was my only break in a ten day shift block. It could be worse I know, but it could be a hell of a lot better as well.
Anyway here's my belated and jumbled thoughts on Doctor Who:

Anyway here's my belated and jumbled thoughts on Doctor Who:
First of all, I thought it was much better than the mess of last year. There was no floating, twinkly Doctor and no big giant red reset button, so that was a major plus in my book. However, I did feel the episode was really overcrowded and it felt extremely rushed because of it. That could have been easily fixed if they had stretched Journey's End into an actual two-parter and maybe dropped PS/SS instead. But what can you do?
Now as for the Rose and Doctor mark II thing, it's safe to say I hated it. But then I was always going to hate whatever was going to happen outside of a Rose moving on with her life scenario, since I haven't liked the character since early season two and have never been a big fan of Doctor/companion romantic relationships. I understand that RTD wanted some closure for the character and storyline, I just feel he could have handled it better. In my eyes, it just made Rose look shallow, among other things.
As for Donna, again I hated it, but I hated it in a good way. It was just so cruel. I can't remember a character in New Who or the classic series that has enjoyed as much character growth as Donna Noble has, and then had it all stripped away from her in a matter of seconds. What made it even worse, imo, was that I honestly don't believe that her mother will take any notice of the Doctor said to her and things will just go as before. Sure her grandad might, but he's still under his daughter's thumb as well, and that's the real tragedy. Here we have this amazing person who will never get a chance to become just that.
What's even worse is I really believe that Catherine Tate really won't be back. She said she'd do one series and one series only and I honestly believe her. So that's that. We're stuck with that ending.
Over all, I did quite like the episode in a popcorn kind of way. But it wasn't a classic by any means.

I was absolutely shocked by the movie Doctor kissing his Companion...let me do that kind of addition on my own, not on screen!

I didn't like the kiss either, less is far more.
Have a great day!
