Well I said I'd find away to do next to nothing and I did.  Got some housey worky stuff done, as well as some other bits and bobs, but not anything really worth mentioning.  Oh, wait...

I had another flick through Allan Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking. According to everyone who's ever used it, it's supposed to be the greatest book of that particular genre.  Be that as it may, I really can't get past Allan Carr's obsession with CAPTIALIZING every OTHER word.  It's one of my pet hates when it comes reading, I really don't like being shouted at, not to mention the fact it reminds me of Frank Miller.  Heh.  FRANK MILLER'S GODDAMN EASY WAY TO STOP GODDAMN SMOKING.  You never know, it could happen.

I've been a pretty heavy smoker for the last twelve years and at this point I really want to give up.  The really sad thing is, my reason for doing it isn't health related at all, it's more down to the financial aspect of it all.  I simply can't afford to anymore, when you're deciding between a weeks worth of groceries, a few nights out or a weeks worth of groceries and a weeks worth of cigarettes, then Huston you have a problem. Yep it's pathetic.

Anyway I'm thinking I might try a helpline next - don't laugh - see if they have any suggestions, other than patches - I can just see myself getting addicted to them instead for some reason.   It'd just be like the thing.

In other news, I did a bit of work on several of my fics today.  One's not going anywhere, the other is going to get edited to hell, a mini got posted, and I made as start on a couple of others.  Whether or not the new ones see the light of day is another matter entirely.

And on a completely unrelated note, I've decided that in addition to wanting a Adipose soft toy for christmas, I also want a Crazy!Caan toy.  How geeky of me.

One of many ten of thousands of reasons I don't smoke is the fact that I cannot afford to become addicted to nicotine to the point where my body goes through a withdrawal process because it no longer has substance that it's used to. That and I don't want to kill my lungs as I cannot survive without oxygen nor do I want to lose my voicebox either. Also paying for food around here is already expensive as it is. :(

On the unrelated note, Crazy Caan was bloody awesome. <3

See, the evil tobacco industry got me when I was young, way too young to take really take the health considerations into account. Plus, back then, the anti-smoking stance wasn't as nearly as strong back then as it is today. Every smoker understands that health risks, the varying cancers and diseases that come with the stick.

You can't get away from the health warnings. It's just that most of us are to addicted to care, or think that it probably won't happen to them until they hit middle age. The health aspect does come into my wanting to stop. It's just not the main one. Not by a long shot.

Also, I want Crazy Caan to get his own spin off.

All I remember was when I was about 10 years old, I saw old people with a hole in their throats, talking though a special microphone that make them sound like Daleks when they spoke because they had their voicebox cut out due to cancer. The cleaning process of that hole wasn't pleasant either and that alone kept me from picking up a fag.

They should do an animated mini-series with Crazy Caan like they did with Infinite Quest. That would rock if they did.

Ah, I had nothing like that at all, I grew up in a smoker's household, with smokers as extended family and all my friends smoked as well. In a sick kind of way, I'm quite envious of you getting that deterrent at such a young age.

And I'd love to see that with Crazy Caan, if not, then have him as the new companion.

Oh man, lots of people in my family smoked as well and out of all of them, my aunt that lives in Switzerland is the only one that hasn't quit yet, and she is a chain smoker. When I was really little I used to want to pick up a stick and smoke it, but then when I was the former smokers without voiceboxes, I said no thanks.

Crazy Caan and Doctor together in the TARDIS. That in itself would be absolute hilarity right there.

And oooh, hail storm outside! Well, that didn't last for very long, but the lightning and thundering outside certainly hasn't stopped. The one I hate about summers here in Florida and to think people wait for this time of the year to come here. -coughs-

Heh, I've got you beat there. Apparently when I was a little tyke, I used to crawl about the floor, swipe fag ends from ashtrays and eat them. It was written in the stars that I was destined to smoke. I still wish I'd had a deterrent, though.

Crazy Caan and The Doctor in The TARDIS should be next years comic relief clip. Maybe Lauren can somehow put in an appearance.

It's just grey in these parts. I think our short summer is over. :(

I think my OCD kept me safe in that regard, cause I wouldn't dare place anything that was on the floor or in someone else's mouth for that matter into my mouth, out of fear of what that could do to me. XD

A comic relief strip would definitely be nice. Wouldn't it be something if they made a cameo appearance in another comic? I know that Rose and Ten made a cameo in one of the Buffy comics.

Now, I'm jealous that I didn't have OCD when I was a baby. :D

Really, I didn't know they actually showed up in a Buffy comic. But then I've always stayed away from the comics. I like to think Buffy stayed dead in season five, it avoids thinking about the horror of season six and seven. :)

Lol, I may have had OCD from early in life, but that didn't stop me from running around the house and giving myself a black eye at age 1. :(

And yeah Ten and Rose appeared in a Buffy comic. The Doctor looks especially cute with dots for eyes, lol. The only thing good about Buffy post season 5 was evil Willow, but beyond that, the show stopped getting interested. :(

Oooh and it got dark outside really quickly and it's only 18:03 down here. :o

Ouch.

That is some horrible art there. He does look cute though.

Really? Another thunderstorm?

Nah, it's the same one. It just got darker outside earlier than usual. XD
