Okay, it wasn’t practicing psychiatry from an office overlooking Robinson Park, but it wasn’t cleaning the streets with her tongue either. Like everything else in her life, it’d just been something that she’d kinda fallen into.
Besides, being one of the ghostwriters for the popular kids’ series, Little Monsters by G. G. Gremlin, was sorta cool in a way. Writing the same story over and over again at four hundred bucks a pop was a pretty good deal no matter what way you looked at it.
It’d only taken her half a day to write Greta the Grotesque Goblin, and Colin the Cranky Cyclops had taken even less time than that. Not too shabby if Harley did say so herself.
Students on campuses across the land might not fawn over her literary works for years to come, but that was okay, really it was. Her efforts kept her girl sweet and her girl’s best friend’s mouth shut – for the most part at any rate.

I can see her writing chick lit.

Hee. Such an awesome turn of phrase.
I really enjoy the idea of Harley ghostwriting. If only she were to return to writing for an advice column, that would make my day! Or maybe she'd enjoy churning out cheap pulp novels about dinosaurs and skimpy women in bikinis, or grim-looking men in fedoras pointing Deringers in a smoky speakeasy :D
