So Scans_Daily is no more...

...and that's terrible.

Seriously.  If it wasn't for  scans_daily  I wouldn't have gotten back into comics again after a lengthy absence.   Hell, I probably wouldn't have bothered getting a LJ account in the first place.   It introduced me to the Secret Six,  Manhunter, and lots of other smaller titles that I wouldn't have even glanced at had I not seen them showcased over there first.   I know I'm not the only one.

Then there's the silver and golden age stuff.  Superdictionary; Lois Lane - Superman's Girlfriend; Tales from the Crypt and the like.  Not only were the scans fun to look at, they were fascinating in a historical context.   A brief look at how far we've come over the past few decades.

I also met some really cool people over there.

So fuck you Peter David.  I hope your title gets canned.  

That might have been childish and petulant of me, maybe a little unfair as well, but it felt good.

It's not childish at all; I totally hear you on S_D getting canned. Now I have to pay a shitload of money to a seller on eBay just to see the Joker's earlier stories from when the Batman series first got started. :(

Fortunately, I still have ALL of my Harley Quinn scans on photobucket. I may end up posting them on A_B_Joker to make up for the loss. >.>

It'd be cool if you did. Just for the sake of reference, y'know. I don't know where all my old issues disappeared to. :(

Who knows? Maybe someone will start up a comm similar to Scans, but have it focus on indie and golden/silver age comics. It wouldn't be the same but it'd be better than nothing.
