Summary: It had seemed like a good idea at the time
It hadn’t been Superman’s self- righteous speech, Wonder Woman’s threats, or Batman’s glowering that had made Ivy rethink and regret her membership with Lex Luthor’s Injustice League.
Nor could her sudden change of heart be put down to any misgivings regarding the amount of so-called innocent lives that would no doubt be caught in the crossfire in the many battles to come. Ivy, of all people understood that there was no such thing as an innocent human being, their very nature didn’t allow for it.
She wasn’t concerned by unexpected betrayals either, knowing full that she could give just as well as she got. She was one of the most dangerous and deadliest within the league; only a fool such as The Joker would dare challenge her.
Nether the less, she was having misgivings. She was beginning to regret agreeing to join this venture.
A bomb with the word ‘Acme’ branded across it and a Dr Evil doll that barked “one million dollars!” every two minutes, badly wrapped up in a box that been addressed to ‘Red’ written in crayon, had more than seen to that.
And as Ivy left her quarters and made her way to the command centre in answer to the summons over the comm., she couldn’t help but feel suddenly embarrassed over the situation she now found herself in.
